Ms. Elise Gallegos, MS, CCC-SLP earned her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. She completed her master’s degree in speech-language pathology at the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions, in Boston, MA. Elise also holds a master’s degree in special education from Dominican University, River Forest, IL and her certification as a literacy specialist in the state of Massachusetts.
She comes to NEN with extensive experience working in public schools, including her clinical fellowship in Lawrence Public Schools (MA), speech-language pathology practicum in Lowell Public Schools (MA), literacy specialist practicum in Newton Public Schools (MA), and experience as a special educator prior to her career in speech-language pathology (Chicago, IL). Elise has specialized training in assessment and treatment of language-based reading disorders such as dyslexia, and has received formal training in systematic, phonics-based literacy intervention.
In addition to her experience in schools, Elise has worked with a variety of adult and pediatric populations with voice, speech, language, and cognition needs in private practice. Elise is a member of ASHA, the American Speech-Language Hearing Association, and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) as well as her license to practice speech-language pathology in MA and CT. Elise treats children, adolescents, and adults through individualized therapy plans that are carefully crafted with each client’s needs and interests in mind. She prioritizes warm, trusting partnerships with both clients and families/caregivers and carryover of new skills to the home, school, and/or work setting.
