Dr. Rankine received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Florida International University, where she specialized in courses to earn hours in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis. She then earned a Master’s Degree and Doctoral Degree in Psychology at Albizu University in Miami, Florida, where she specialized in the Forensic Concentration. She is currently licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in Connecticut.
Throughout her career and training, Dr. Rankine worked as a Dependency Social Worker with DCF related cases, managing a case load families with several different social stressors. sShe worked as Behavior Implementer in direct ABA services with children and adults with Developmental Disorders, and with families in DCF system through practicum experience, completing court evaluations and therapy. She also provided individual and family therapy through a Family Safety program, to children who were sexually abused and survivors of domestic minor sex trafficking, and with a Diversion program providing individual and family therapy to teenagers who were court involved or on probation.
She has also provided expert testimony in both a therapeutic and evaluation capacity. Dr. Rankine has experience working in outpatient, and residential substance use treatment centers providing individual and group therapy, and evaluations for court. She completed my Doctoral internship at a Child Protection Center, where she completed forensic evaluations for children and adults referred by DCF, and group therapy for children who have a history of trauma.
Dr. Rankine completed her Post-Doctoral residency at The Community Health Center, in an integrated health care setting. She currently works as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in an integrated primary care setting, providing individual and group therapy, and assessments of patients referred by medical providers, and supervision of graduate externs. Dr. Rankine additionally works as an adjunct faculty at Post University in their graduate counseling program.
Dr. Rankine currently treats clients across the lifespan and facilitates individual, group, couples and families in therapy. Dr. Rankine specializes in early childhood relationships, attachments, and the impact on current overall functioning, including presenting symptoms and repeated patterns. She further specializes in child, adolescent and adult trauma and increasing awareness of trauma reminders and reactivity.
