Dr. Williamson completed her undergraduate degree at Wheaton College (Norton, MA), majoring in psychobiology and minoring in chemistry and English. After gaining two years of clinical experience working with adults with major mental illness at McLean Hospital (Belmont, MA), she studied clinical psychology at the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology, earning her en-route master’s degree. Concentrating her studies and clinical work in neuropsychology, she trained at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital (Bedford VA) before completing her doctoral degree at William James College (Newton, MA). She completed her APA predoctoral internship at the C. W. Bill Young VA Medical Center (Bay Pines VA; Bay Pines, FL), and her APPCN postdoctoral fellowship at the Memphis VA Medical Center (in collaboration with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Semmes-Murphey Neurologic and Spine Institute; Memphis, TN).
While her primary role is as a clinician, she is also a published researcher. Her clinical experience includes working with individuals throughout the lifespan (ages 3+), with a primary focus on conducting neuropsychological evaluations for adult and geriatric clients with disorders including, but not limited to, dementias, stroke, traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, movement disorders (including Parkinson disease and multiple sclerosis), delirium, cancers, and primary psychiatric disorders (including ADHD and PTSD/polytrauma).
